At Homeward Bound Adventure Hounds, everything we offer is built around structure, intention, and truly knowing the dogs in our care. Over time, this has grown into more than just a list of services — it’s a system designed to give each dog exactly what they need to feel safe, fulfilled, and balanced.

Pack Adventures (On & Off Leash)
Our core service. Structured group hikes designed around carefully matched energy levels, temperaments, and personalities. Dogs earn freedom through engagement, recall, and trust — creating calm, social, and fulfilling group experiences out on the trails.

One-on-One Walks
For dogs who benefit from a quieter environment or more individualized attention. These walks are tailored to your dog’s pace, needs, and comfort level while still providing structure and enrichment.

Dog Boarding
A home-based boarding experience where your dog becomes part of a structured, calm environment. We focus on maintaining routine, proper integration, and balanced social time — not just supervision, but true care.

Behavioural & Reactive Dog Support
Working with dogs who need extra guidance is a big part of what we do. Whether it’s building confidence, improving neutrality, or safely integrating into the right environment, we approach every dog with patience, clarity, and strong leadership.

From the very beginning, Alyssa Eskesen has been drawn to dogs — not just loving them, but truly understanding them. That natural connection deepened over time as she began fostering for multiple rescues over the last several years. Working hands-on with dogs of all temperaments, backgrounds, and behavioural needs gave her a new perspective — one rooted in structure, trust, and real-world experience.

What started as a passion gradually became something more intentional. Alyssa realized she wanted to build a life and career centered around helping dogs not just exist, but thrive.

Out of that vision, Homeward Bound Adventure Hounds was born.

Based in Surrey and serving Langley, Coquitlam, and surrounding areas, Alyssa offers more than just dog walking — she provides purposeful, structured pack experiences. Her groups are carefully curated based on energy, temperament, and compatibility, ensuring every dog is set up for success. Whether it’s a pack adventure, one-on-one walk, or boarding stay, her focus is always the same: safety, fulfillment, and clear communication.

Her approach blends real-life experience with a balanced training mindset. Alyssa works confidently with a wide range of dogs, including those with reactivity or behavioural challenges, always prioritizing calm leadership, proper introductions, and thoughtful management. She believes freedom is earned, not rushed — and that dogs thrive when they are given both guidance and the opportunity to just be dogs.

But this is only the beginning.

Alyssa is actively working toward becoming a certified dog trainer, with plans to continue expanding her knowledge and services. Her long-term vision is to support even more dogs and their owners through education, structure, and honest, transparent relationships.
